Very clear and helpful, plus you learn a little natural history about each area.

Jerry Schad has been writing these detailed guides to hiking in San Diego for many years. It is also a wonderful tool for visitors of San Diego who would be interested in the outdoors. Because many people now hike with a smartphone or GPS, the book includes specific waypoint coordinates, which people can load wfoot a device to help guide them. I wish I could say I’ve tried all or even most of the hikes recommended in this great book, but I find that I just keep going back to the same xfield that I now know and love.

Atlanta by Marcus Woolf sorts through a myriad hiking opportunities at various parks, wilderness areas and other natural areas and presents the trails people will enjoy the most.
